We are licensed under the Illinois Department of Human Services under Home Services Agencies. This department conducts an onsite survey of our agency each year. Following Illinois state law, each of our caregivers is listed with the Illinois Health Care Worker Registry, and given at least eight hours of training.

Our home care aids are trained in these areas:

  • Performing personal care tasks including bathing, skin care, hair care, nail care, mouth care, shaving, dressing, feeding, assistance with ambulation, exercise and transfers, positioning, toileting, and medication reminding.
  • Problem solving skills to care for patients with dementia who exhibit challenging behavior.
  • Behaviors that would constitute abuse or neglect and the legal prohibitions against these behaviors, as well as knowledge and understanding of abuse and neglect prevention and reporting requirements.
  • … and more!

Our Caregivers also…

…Are carefully chosen to be people who truly care for others. They have to be people of compassion and integrity.

… Are background checked for criminal activity, driving activity and employer history to ensure they are trustworthy and competent.

… Are fully trained to make sure they fulfill the state-required number of training hours. They are given our employee handbook and given procedure manual training.

… Are carefully selected to be matched in personality to our client. We make sure the family is comfortable with our caregiver.

Senior Issues We Can Handle

Your mom or dad will likely run into the typical problems of aging over time. Here are some of the most common issues with the elderly to be concerned with. Maybe you are experiencing them now. Hiring a dependable caregiver is the smart thing to do, and your senior will thank you for it.

Are you searching for a quality Midlothian home care company? Destiny can help with all of these problems:

Falls: This is one of the most common problems among seniors. They fall and they cannot get up, even to make a phone call.

Leaving the stove on: This danger is obvious. Your senior might forget that the stove is turned on. A smoke alarm helps, but that might not be enough.

Slipping in the shower or bath: This is a type of fall that can have devastating consequences. A bathtub grab bar is a good idea.

Loneliness: Spending hours in the home alone can make your senior lonely and in need of companionship. A friendly face that shows up every day is a great benefit.

Depression: This is a common problem among seniors living alone. They lack friends as well as the responsibilities of looking after others. Thus they become self-absorbed.
