We know that finding a Joliet caregiver is important to you!

We are licensed under the Illinois Department of Human Services under Home Services Agencies. This department conducts an onsite survey of our agency each year. Following Illinois state law, each of our caregivers is listed with the Illinois Health Care Worker Registry, and given at least eight hours of training.

Our home care aids are trained in these areas:

  • Performing personal care tasks including bathing, skin care, hair care, nail care, mouth care, shaving, dressing, feeding, assistance with ambulation, exercise and transfers, positioning, toileting, and medication reminding.
  • Observing, reporting and documenting client status and the care or service provided, including changes in functional ability and mental status of the client.
  • Assisting in the use of specific adaptive equipment, such as a mechanical lifting device, if the worker will be working with clients who use the device.
  • … and more!

Our Caregivers also…

…Are carefully chosen to be people who truly care for others. They have to be people of compassion and integrity.

… Are background checked for criminal activity, driving activity and employer history to ensure they are trustworthy and competent.

… Are fully trained to make sure they fulfill the state-required number of training hours. They are given our employee handbook and given procedure manual training.

… Are carefully selected to be matched in personality to our client. We make sure the family is comfortable with our caregiver.

Joliet

A City of Diverse Faith Communities

Joliet is a city in Will and Kendall counties in Illinois.  As of July 2014, Joliet was the 169th most populous city in the United States.  As of the census of 2010, there were 147,433 people in Joliet. Joliet is home to the Roman Catholic Diocese of Joliet.

Joliet has long been a significant transportation hub. It lies on both sides of the Des Plaines River, a major waterway in Northern Illinois, and was one of the principal ports on the Illinois and Michigan Canal.  The Auditorium Building is located at the northeast corner of Chicago and Clinton streets. Designed by G. Julian Barnes and built of limestone in 1891, it was controversial as one of the first buildings to combine religious, civic and commercial uses.

According to the official website of the City of Joliet:

Joliet’s diverse faith community represents over 60 denominations and offers residents services at more than 150 churches, synagogues, and houses of worship. Along with their spiritual offerings, these houses of worship enrich the Joliet area by providing some of the area’s finest examples of Romanesque, Gothic, Byzantine, and Renaissance architecture. The spiritual community in Joliet welcomes newcomers with open arms, offering regular worship services and religious education.

Like many Midwestern and East Coast cities dependent on manufacturing industries, Joliet has experienced past economic troubles.  The city is evolving from a steel and manufacturing suburb to a commuter suburb in the Chicago metropolitan area.  The main attractions in Joliet’s city center are the Harrah’s Casino, Joliet Slammers baseball (DuPage Medical Group Field), Hollywood Casino, and the Rialto Square Theatre, also known as the ‘Jewel of Joliet’, and has been called one of the world’s 10 most beautiful theaters.
